Congratulations to our graduated apprentice, Mike Hughes

A big congratulations from the FPS team to Mike Hughes, who is now a fully qualified hydraulic technician after completing his apprenticeship in mechanical trade engineering with FPS.

Mike’s name was put forward by his tutors for the rare opportunity to become an apprentice with FPS back in 2012 while he was studying a pre-trade course in mechanical engineering at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology.

After formally completing his qualification and almost five years with the company, it was only proper that Mike be officially welcomed into the fold of qualified employees with a Friday drinks and BBQ shout where he presented owner Gary Allen with a bottle of whiskey to thank him for giving him the chance to start his career. The guy who always knew he would work in a trade says a “weight has been lifted from his shoulders” now that the course is complete. Congratulations, Mike!
