South Pine was one of FPS first customers when it first started out around 20 years ago and has been providing engineering expertise ever since.

South Pine is one of the country’s largest timber manufacturers. The FPS team provides critical back up for their team on the ground thereby offering engineering support through the Systemcare maintenance contract, which offers regular servicing of machinery and equipment for the minimum possible downtime.

In the last nearly two decades, South Pine Ltd has more than doubled its production – cutting more than twice as much as it used to in its sawn log capacity.

With increasing production over time, it has become even more important for South Pine to service their heavy saw milling equipment regularly. It operates in a challenging and demanding environment. With all the dust and dirt, it can be quite hard to keep the equipment clean.

The Systemcare maintenance schedule means they find contamination in the hydraulic systems as soon as it occurs. The contracted monthly checks mean that if issues arise, FPS engineers come out especially to solve the problem – fast.

South Pine and FPS have also recently completed a major project upgrading the manufacturer’s twin-band hydraulic system, which is used for primary log breakdown.
