We helped modernise a longline vessel to become a modern fishing vessel fit for purpose in the Antarctic.

FPS undertook a massive refit of the New Zealand Longline Ltd owned vessel, the Chieftain. Purchased second hand, the company wanted to modernise it completely for toothfish fishing in the Antarctic.

A Norwegian company replaced the long lining equipment with a new modern fit-out while FPS redesigned and upgraded the existing hydraulic system so it could run all new fishing equipment. In addition, FPS designed the hydraulic system for a new factory that was installed on the vessel at the same time.
