Southpine twin saw powered by new hydraulic unit

FPS has recently delivered a new 145KW hydraulic power unit to upgrade a twin band saw at Southpine. The saw cuts both sides of logs at once, quickly, and readies them for processing. The hydraulic system also takes the cut offs and mulches them at the same time as it trims the logs.

The saw was built and thoroughly tested in the FPS workshop then installed over two weekend days to ensure no downtime in production. 

Southpine has been a customer with FPS for 17 years, and has had a relationship with FPS’ Director/Sales Engineer Gary Allen for 37 years.
